About Louise Stidham Photography

Hi there! Welcome to my official blog! Louise Stidham Photography started because of my interest in capturing everything that is special in life.

A simple smile, a relationship blooming, a wedding ceremony and reception, a pregnancy, a child being born, the laughter and tears of holding that tinny little person for the first time, the family photos, birthday parties and celebrations, my life, your life, anything that matters to us. All of those things keep me inspired to create works of art that you will enjoy for years to come.

I believe that {Life is Sweet} and I enjoy being able to go through my photographs and experience my best moments over and over again.

Enjoy your visit to my blog! While here, leave me some comments in your favorite images. If you want to book a session, please contact me. My information is in the About tab. Come back often to view my recent work and stay in touch!

Talk to you soon!

Louise :)

Sharing the Love | 202 Magazine Featured Couple

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

I had been wanting to go to Josh Groban’s concert for a loooonnnng time. Finally, last year David (my sweet husband) surprised me with tickets in one of our date nights. I absolutely loved his concert despite all of the grobanites screaming for him..ahah, I was NOT one of them, I was there purely for the music and the concert experience, I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed when he sang one of my favorite songs “When you say you love me” that I will be quoting throughout this post.  Love is sooo in the air this month so why not spread that amazing feeling!

This month in particular, I have had the opportunity to meet 5 fabulous couple from the East Valley that have some amazing love stories. They are the reason why I have been anxiously waiting for the February issue of the 202 Magazine to come out so that I could grab my copy and read their date stories. I met with each one of the featured couples with a brief background information  in order to create images that were a good representation of their first date. Since we’ve had some “bonus” images, I decided that I will be blogging about them separately. Perfect, since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and these series of postings I will be doing can also serve as a good inspiration for a couples/engagement photoshoot! So, let’s begin with this adorable couple Janee and Dan Pousson (to read more about them visit the 202 Magazine website). If you have some favorites, you can “PIN IT” for inspiration.

“When you say you love me
The world goes still so still inside “

Janee and Dan Pousson

“And this journey that we’re on
How far we’ve come and I
Celebrate every moment
When you say you love me
That’s all you have to say
I’ll always feel this way”

“When you say you love me
The world goes still, so still inside
When you say you love me
For a moment, there’s no one else alive”

“Like the sound of silence calling
I hear your voice and suddenly I’m falling
Lost in a dream
Like the echoes of our souls are meeting”

“You say those words, my heart stops beating
I wonder what it means
What could it be that comes over me
At times I can’t move
At times I can’t hardly breathe”

Did you know we have a Valentine’s Day giveaway going on right now? There’s no cost to enter and you can win 4 fabulous prizes from Pumpernickel and Wry boutique. Click here to Enter Our giveaway! Come back tomorrow to get to know another couple, Claire and Ryan Holland!

Personal Branding: Managing Your Image

Monday, January 16th, 2012

Over the weekend, I came across a very useful article about personal branding by Marc Cenedella, CEO  & Founder of one of my favorite career website, The Ladders.  He explained that “building your personal brand is about understanding how you want your professional life to be seen by others.” He added that after that you have to begin“managing your presence in both offline and online worlds towards that end.” This is a fantastic reason to take a closer look at the pictures you have online  and add a professional headshot to your personal portfolio.

Adding a professionally done photo to social network sites is just another great way to showcase your own style in a more structured way.  This is considerably important now that so many employers are connecting with candidates through those sites. It pays off to invest in professional photos but that is not all.

Other things that you can do improve your online presentation besides professional headshots:

  • Search Engine: Have you ever tried running a name search of your own name? Try this and you will be surprise at what you may or may not find.
  • Once you find your information on the Web, you will need to manage what is out there. That will require setting privacy filters in websites you visit frequently and removing information you don’t want to be viewed. There are even a number of companies that can help you removing unwanted online information.
  • What if I can find anything? That’s a question that has been lingering with me. I don’t know the right answer but my personal opinion is that nowadays having some online presence is helpful depending on what you make available to the public eye and the type of career you have.  I would be curious to hear what my readers have to say about this topic.

So, the key action word for you to begin boosting your presence on the Web is “managing.” Take a moment to manage your information and take control of your online life. Don’t forget to update those headshots! To book a session, please call (480) 235-8569 or email info@louisestidham.com.

The Fountain Series |Hallie Miller| Gilbert, AZ Photographer

Monday, February 28th, 2011

I’ve been wanting to come here to share additional images from the photo series I had the opportunity to do with amazing model Hallie Miller.  I think she is ready to be a cover girl!

Hallie Miller, Model Photography, AZ Gilbert Photographer, Louise Stidham

This set of images were taken at the Saltmine Studios (Recording studio) in Mesa, AZ. They have a beautiful patio with several fountains and we were lucky enough to get their permission to take photos in their property in addition to getting a full tour of the recording studio.

The Pay Phone Series With Hallie Miller | Louise Stidham Photography | AZ Photographer

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

I know I’ve been neglecting my blog so I thought I’d make myself a goal to come here first to post previews instead of always going through Facebook. Although I just love how convenient the Facebook fan page is to share images with my clients and friends. Anyway, I have been busy this week editing lots of photos including the ones I took of Hallie and Tarin last weekend. I love how their images are coming out so far. I was just working on Hallie’s photos and couldn’t wait to share our pay phone series.  This girl rocks (wait that will be a different posting…the rockstars, coming soon)!

Talking about pay phones, how often do you actually see them around town nowadays? I hadn’t seen one in awhile so it was quite a surprise for us when we found that one in downtown Mesa, AZ.

I love the strong pose in the image above. Here it comes, two more that I really liked:

This is it for now! Our pay phone series was super fun to put together. Hallie is an amazing model and I am so glad she choose me to take her photos to update her portfolio. And, I am also glad she is allowing me to share her images here too.

Well, I’d better get back to editing, check back later for more.

Caution: This Posting will Make You Hungry | YC’S Mongolian Grill

Monday, December 6th, 2010

Recently I’ve had the opportunity to photograph this delicious restaurant as they prepare to re-launch their website soon. They have 5 locations for you to choose from: Two locations in Tempe, one in Scottsdale, one in Chandler and one in Gilbert-thank goodness! :) From the food preparation to the customer service itself they have the full package you would expect when it comes to good food, casual environment and fun. If you’re a first time guest, they will glady teach you “How to Mongo.” It is really worth checking it out if you haven’t yet. Alright, let’s go to the pictures.

Yummy healthy food, sizzled to perfection with the ingredients and sauce of your choice. It can’t get any better than this, right?!
