About Louise Stidham Photography

Hi there! Welcome to my official blog! Louise Stidham Photography started because of my interest in capturing everything that is special in life.

A simple smile, a relationship blooming, a wedding ceremony and reception, a pregnancy, a child being born, the laughter and tears of holding that tinny little person for the first time, the family photos, birthday parties and celebrations, my life, your life, anything that matters to us. All of those things keep me inspired to create works of art that you will enjoy for years to come.

I believe that {Life is Sweet} and I enjoy being able to go through my photographs and experience my best moments over and over again.

Enjoy your visit to my blog! While here, leave me some comments in your favorite images. If you want to book a session, please contact me. My information is in the About tab. Come back often to view my recent work and stay in touch!

Talk to you soon!

Louise :)

Product Spotlight: Gorgeous Mini-Albums

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

These mini-albums are such a big hit nowadays and I think I figured out why: they are amazing!  With two choices of paper, linen or pearl; two choices of cover, custom image or linen (in six color options-red, green, brown, black, pink,or white); the possibility of adding personalized messages, and the fact that they are wallet-sized make them the perfect album to carry around showcasing some fantastic moments we captured.

I LOVE ordering them as I watch Ethan-my very own 22 month old boy- grow. It is perfect! I no longer have to rely on smashed photos stored in my wallet or my low resolution iPhone images (that I still adore). I can now have these accordion shaped books, that are high quality, durable and super chic to carry around.

I highly recommend them to my clients because that is indeed one of my preferred products. It is also fully customizable to meet your style. If you have a session coming up soon, consider ordering one or more with your favorite images then, prepare yourself to be delighted!

What to Wear | Louise Stidham Photography

What should I/we wear?

If you are now sitting at home wondering what is the ideal outfit for your next portrait session, don’t worry you are not alone. With almost every consultation I do I hear that question. Of course, to get the most out of your session, your outfit is indeed very important.

The first step in answering that question is to ask yourself what do you want from your session. Think about whether you want formal, or casual portraits, or a little bit of both. Once you have defined the style of your photo shoot, it will be a little bit easier to match that format to your own personal fashion.

The Secret is Out:

That’s true, you can and should try your best to dress to your own taste in fashion. The main goal with your portrait session should be to capture your natural self. The truth is that we feel the most satisfied in clothes that we like. So, your best bet is to be yourself. Remember, the way you feel will be reflected in your photographs.

Some Suggestions

* Keeping it simple is better.

* Contrasting fabrics and colors are a great choice.

* Darker colors will slim you down.

* Bright colors are fun especially if you choose the ones that compliment your skin tone.

* Accessorize, accessorize and accessorize. I love accessories, they can really bring life to a simple part of jeans and a top.

* Dress on the same level. In another words, if one is casual it will be better if everyone else is too, etc.

I always recommend to my clients to bring additional set of clothes and/or accessories to the photo shoot if they are undecided, or if they want additional opinions, or if they are open to creativity. We can also change outfits, mix and match and add accessories on spot.

Break all the Rules

It is ultimately up to you to decide what images you want to create and what memories you want to preserve. It is your life & your style.

{Life is Sweet} enjoy it everyday!
